One of the main new features of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 is the new Siri AI, but it still isn’t available in the EU, despite Apple releasing iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 last month.
If you’ve been wondering how much longer the wait will be, the news isn’t encouraging. According to the generally reliable Mark Gurman at Bloomberg, Siri AI should not be expected to launch in the EU “anytime soon.”

Apparently, Apple wants to use the absence of Siri AI in the EU to get frustrated customers to “push back against the EU’s regulatory approach.” The strategy, if accurate, would have Apple withholding an advertised feature, then relying on paying customers to pressure EU regulators into changing the rules before finally delivering what was promised.
Gurman points to the Apple Intelligence rollout as a reference point. That feature launched outside the EU in October 2024 but didn’t arrive in the EU until March 2025 — a delay of roughly five months. Gurman suggests a similar delay for Siri AI represents the “absolute best-case scenario,” with the worst case being a “considerably longer” wait.
