Several Pixel owners are reporting unusually low microphone volume when recording audio and video natively or through certain apps. Similar complaints date back to 2024 and span multiple Pixel generations, including the latest Pixel 10 series. Google appears to be aware of the complaints but has not publicly acknowledged a widespread issue, and there is no confirmed fix at this time.

Apart from offering one of the best software experiences in the Android ecosystem, Google’s Pixel line is also known for its impressive camera capabilities. However, a high-resolution video recording loses much of its value if audio is barely audible on playback. That’s exactly the frustration many Pixel owners are dealing with.

This isn’t a brand new issue, but it is resurfacing. Reports of Pixel microphones recording audio that is too quiet to hear can be traced back to 2024, and similar microphone problems appear to have continued affecting users since then. Google has yet to confirm a fix or provide an official timeline for a resolution.
