Nintendo is cutting the price of a single Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controller by 17%, from ¥4,480 ($43) to ¥3,740 ($36).

In a notice on an official Nintendo Japan Joy-Con page for Joy-Cons, Nintendo states that this change to the suggested retail price will go into effect on November 6, 2020, and will only apply to individually sold Joy-Con controllers.

It is not currently known whether this change will impact the price of Joy-Cons elsewhere in the world.

Nintendo’s Joy-Con controllers have been the target of a number of lawsuits over the last several years related to their tendency to “drift” with age.

Most recently, a mother and son filed a class-action suit against Nintendo seeking over $5 million in damages toward compensating those impacted by the issue.
