This page contains information on the locations of Eridian Writing in Borderlands 3.
Once you reach a certain point in the main story, you will be able to translate the mysterious Eridian Writing found on many planets and regions within. Do this, and you’ll get rewards in the form of Eridian currency and unlock new Proving Grounds.
Eridian Writing locations below are divided up into regions. You can also view our Interactive Maps for more information.
This forgotten slab of Eridian Writing can be found in a cave by a valley in the left part of The Droughts, which you can reach by going left after leaving the Crismon Raiders outpost at the start of the region.
Once you reach the lair of the Legendary Hunt, the Lavender Crowly Varkid, look to the right for a small cave entrance, and inside you will find the writing.
This slab of Eridian Writing can be found at Tannis Dig Site, located off on the right side of The Droughts, off the path of the main road up to the Crimson Raiders Dry Dock.
Enter the dig site, which you will need to do to speak with Tannis during the main missions, and look into the lower crevice below the central tent, where you can find a small tunnel leading to one of the Eridian Writings.
This particular slab of Eridian Writing is located in the far western reaches of the zone, guarded by a large bandit camp – though the writing itself lies outside of their area, you may have to fight to get to it.
You can find it on a high platform overlooking a ravine where the southern entrance to the camp is. However to reach the writing, you must take the long path up and around to the top where the printing station for the side mission – Golden Calves – takes you, and then run past it along a ledge until you reach the writing.
This Eridian Writing can be found northeast of Roland’s Rest in Devil’s Razor, which is located on Pandora.
From the Roland’s Rest fast travel point, head right. Follow the cliff face around to the right until you enter skag territory. Duck into the small cave on your right to find the Eridian Writing.
This Eridian Writing can be found northwest of Roland’s Rest in Devil’s Razor, which is located on Pandora.
From the Roland’s Rest fast travel point, head left. Follow the cliff face around to the left until you enter skag territory. Continue following the cliffs as they veer left and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on a small stone outcropping.
This Eridian Writing is located in the southwestern region of the Splinterlands, an area of Pandora.
From the Chop Shop fast travel location, grab a vehicle and head north. Pull off the road to the left before crossing the bridge and climb the short slope to find a small recess in the cliff face. Climb over the ridge to find the Eridian Writing.
This Eridian Writing can be found during or after the Carnivora section of the Pandoran campaign.
After Carnivora breaks off and starts driving around, grab a vehicle and head right. Follow the cliffs on the right side until the start to curve left and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on the side of a cliff, almost out of reach.
This Eridian Writing can be found in the Guts of Carnivora, located on Pandora, which becomes available after unlocking the area via the campaign.
From the entrance, proceed all the way to the end of the level. Just before doubling back and climbing the stairs to the boss encounter, you’ll find the Eridian Writing on a wall amidst a cluster of monitors.
This Eridian Writing can be found in the mines in Konrad’s Hold during (or after completing) The Demon In The Dark.
From the beginning of Konrad’s Hold, work your way through the first few sections, proceeding through the large structures, then turn right once you return outside. Hop down off the ledge near the varkid nests and continue on into the mines. Follow the path around to the right until you find a small chamber on the left side. Head to the back of the room and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on the far wall.
This Eridian Writing can be found once the player has unlocked Cathedral of the Twin Gods, and is located on Pandora.
Drive to roughly the middle of the map, where the road overhang is lined with fluorescent pink light, then exit your vehicle. Slide under the garage door set into the cliff, then follow the path up and around to find the Eridian Writing on the furthermost wall at the back of the cave system.
This Eridian Writing is located on Pandora, in the Destroyer’s Rift area.
From the Destroyer’s Rift Fast Travel Station, turn around and you’ll see a small tunnel across from the vending machines. Use the sloping platform to climb up to it, then jump inside and head to the end of the hall. Jump up on the elevated stone platform (with a spectacular view), then jump to the left and climb up. You’ll find the Eridian Writing on the wall at the end of the hall.
There’s an Eridian Writing to be found in the Meridian Outskirts region, far off on the left side when first entering the underpass area from the fast travel jump spot.
Once you arrive in the large underpass area, head to the left to where the Side Mission Healers and Dealers leads you to a medical doctor’s room. Look at the back of the room behind the curtains to find slabs of rocks, and the writing will be among them.
This Eridian Writing can be found on Promethea, in the Meridian Metroplex area.
From the Meridian Metroplex Fast Travel point in Watershed Base, head straight ahead and you’ll see the Eridian Writing on a pillar across from the weapon and medical vending machines.
This Eridian Writing can be found on Promethea, in the Lectra City area.
From the Lectra City Fast Travel point, turn right and head up the stairs. Head through the city until you reach the market, then head to the right to find the stairs leading down into the underground section. Turn right to find an abandoned train tunnel, then follow it around to the left and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on a wall to the left.
This Eridian Writing can be found on Promethea, in the Skywell-27 area.
From the starting Fast Travel point, head forward through the lunar wastes, then cut through the complex on your left. Once you move through the vent system and break back into the great(ish) outdoors, head forward and you’ll see a small area on your left. Hop up into the damaged structure and climb up and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on your right.
This Eridian Writing can be found on Promethea in Atlas HQ, in the Executive Suite sub-area.
From the Fast Travel station, head forward, then take the path to the right as it circles around the main building. Once you enter Atlas HQ, head right down the middle until you reach the area near the end of the level, then use the elevator towards the center of the area, taking it up to the Executive Suite.
Head forward until you reach Rhys’ office, then turn right and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on the far wall.
This Eridian Writing can be found on Promethea in the Neon Arterial area.
You can take a shortcut by taking the Forgotten Basilica Fast Travel Point, then heading back into Neon Arterial. If you haven’t yet unlocked the Forgotten Basilica, head to the Neon Arterial Fast Travel point and head all the way to the end of the level. In the final corridor before turning and reaching the end, you’ll find the Eridian Writing on the backside of a fallen stone.
This Eridian Writing is found on Athenas, at the very end of the level.
At the end of the zone, after taking out Captain Traunt, a secure chamber will be revealed. Head straight into the room and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on a small obelisk in the center of the walkway.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Floodmoor Basin region.
From the Knotty Peak Fast Travel station, head outside and walk forward. Circle around the path to the left, then jump off towards the right and drop down the side of the cliff. Continue forward until you reach the edge of the next cliff, then double back and you’ll find the Eridian Writing beneath a tree.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Floodmoor Basin region.
From the Knotty Peak Fast Travel station, head outside and walk forward. Jump off the cliff on the right side, then head right once you reach the bottom to find a Catch-A-Ride and grab a vehicle. Drive out and take a right, then take the first left. Cross the bridge and head to the corner of the map, where you’ll find a dinosaur nest. Continue to the back of the area to find the Eridian Writing.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Anvil region.
From the Fast Travel station in The Anvil, head straight ahead, then drop down into the ditch and head left through the broken grate. Walk through the door on the left side to find the Eridian Writing on the back wall.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Jakobs Estate region.
From the Fast Travel station, head forward until you reach the Leery Hamlet, then take a left. Continue straight ahead until you reach a small swampy area surrounded by short cliffs. You’ll find the Eridian Writing on the backside of a tree on the right side of the area.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Voracious Canopy region.
From the Fast Travel station in Voracious Canopy, head straight ahead and follow the path as it slopes down. At the bottom you’ll see a waterfall on your left, so head towards the left side of the waterfall and move through it. Hop up the ledges then take a right at the top to find the Eridian Writing on the wall.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Ambermire region.
From the Rogue’s Hollow Fast Travel point in Ambermire, head left. Continue straight until you reach the edge of the map and you’ll find the Eridian Writing behind the skeleton of a giant swamp creature.

From the Rogue’s Hollow Fast Travel point in Ambermire, head left. As soon as you emerge from the structure, head left and drop off the ledge. Continue straight ahead and you’ll soon find a giant tree. Duck under the roots and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on the left side.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Eden-6, in the Blackbarrel Cellars region.
Travel through the region, past Aurelia, then proceed outside. Head to the end of the path, then cut left into the wilderness. Once you are through the gate, take an immediate left. You’ll soon reach a waterfall, so duck under it to find a secret cavern with the Eridian Writing in it.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Nekrotafeyo, in Desolation’s Edge. It can be found in the Twilight Arcade sub-area.
From the Desolation’s Edge Fast Travel point, head out and grab a vehicle, then drive past the giant floating cube and you’ll find a small ramp leading up. Exit the vehicle and follow the path to the right, then turn left to discover the entrance to the Twilight Arcade. Follow the wall on the right and you’ll soon find the Eridian Writing on your right once you enter the final chamber.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Nekrotafeyo, in Desolation’s Edge.
NOTE: This area is blocked off until you complete the following missions: The First Vault Hunter (Main Campaign Mission), Cannonization (Side Mission). It becomes available during Bad Vibrations (Side Mission, unlocked after completing Cannonization)
During or after the Bad Vibrations Side Mission, you’ll have access to a special area below an Eridian Temple. From the Desolation’s Edge Fast Travel Station, head out and grab a vehicle, then follow the wall to the right and drive up the slope until you reach another Catch-A-Ride. Jump out of the car and head through the small broken section of the wall on the right, just before the Catch-A-Ride.
Follow the path around and head into the broken wall of the Eridian Ruin, then drop down the chasm. Follow the path around to the left and you’ll soon see openings on the cliffside. Turn left, then head right to exit the cave system to the cliff’s edge and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on a wall to the left.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Nekrotafeyo, in the Tazendeer Ruins area.
After fighting your way through the Dark Troops, you’ll enter the Eridian Ruins towards the end of the level. After you take the lift up, you’ll encounter another Eridian statue. Take a right and open the door to find a small antechamber with another Eridian statue. Circle around it to find the Eridian Writing.
This Eridian Writing is found on the planet Nekrotafeyo, in The Pyre Of Stars.
From the Fast Travel point, head forward. At the first opportunity, turn left, then follow the path around to the right. Once you reach the area filled with open air and stone platforms and COV begin appearing, travel to the furthest part of the level, then turn around and you’ll find the Eridian Writing on an elevated platform.
