Rainbow Six Siege’s(2021) ᐉ Rainbow Six Siege Director 'Always Talks About' A Dog Operator ᐉ New Mobile Gadget

presentation director, Alexander Karpazis, has revealed that the developers at Ubisoft are often pondering about how they could get a dog into the hugely well-liked 5v5 shooter. On an episode of Wired’s Tech Support, Karpazis responded to a fan’s Twitter question, which asked if a dog-using operator would ever be added to the game. “This is something that we’ve talked about for a while,” Karpazis said. “Our creative director always talks about a K9 unit.”Rather than confirm an operator with a dog for a gadget, though, Karpazis had a less conclusive final response: “But to answer your question, I have to ask you a question. Are you okay with shooting a dog?”

That’s a tough question for many people, although there’s certainly plenty of folk at Ubisoft who are pretty happy to. Just look at the Far Cry games, in which dogs getting shot at is not an uncommon activity. The more interesting question is just how a dog operator would work; it seems unlikely than Ubisoft would add an AI character to the game, but the fact that the creative director frequently talks about a dog operator suggests that there’s certainly thought being put into the hypotheticals.

The same video also discussed the potential of a dual-pistol-wielding operator (“This is something we always think about”) and the idea of there being more than one Elite skin for each operator (“Why not three? We’ll see.”)

For now though, we’ll just have to stick with Rainbow Six Siege’s latest operators, Goyo and Amaru, who are certainly less ordinary than many of their teammates thanks to their exploding napalm shields and grappling hook. We never thought we’d see these kind of gadgets back in 2015.
