Report: Activision Blizzard laying off staff at Asia-Pacific offices

Activision Blizzard is preparing to lay off another 100 employees following the closure of its Versailles office in October.

As reported by MCV, one source familiar with the matter said the Call of Duty publisher will close more offices in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, resulting in workers from the marketing, PR, publishing, customer care, and localization teams being made redundant.

The source claimed the company intends to fully outsource its non-development teams, leaving those currently working in-house out of a job.

Earlier this year, an Activision Blizzard spokesperson said the Versailles layoffs were the result of the company looking to better leverage its “talent, expertise, and scale” and better adapt to the needs of a “digital focused industry.”

We’ve reached out to the company for more information on the recent layoff report.
