Nintendo drops price of single Joy-Cons in the US

Controllers get $10 price cut, as well as another color option for individual purchase

Nintendo has cut the price of individual Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch in the US, from $50 to $40.

Announced in a tweet, the price cut comes alongside the release of single Joy-Con controllers in Neon Blue (left) and Neon Red (right) in the US.

The change will take effect officially on November 9, 2020.

Prior to this, Nintendo has only made grey Joy-Con controllers available for individual purchase in the US, retailing for $50 apiece.

With this price drop, this brings individual controllers in line with pricing for pairs, which remains at $80 for a set of two.

Earlier this month, Nintendo dropped the price of individual Joy-Cons in Japan from ¥4,480 ($43) to ¥3,740 ($36).
