Amazon Prime Day is here! The deals shown here include the latest deals from Amazon though you may need to be quick as some will sell out.
Unafraid to punch above its weight, OnePlus just launched the new OnePlus 8T phone a day after Apple launched the iPhone 12. The Chinese phone company announced its latest flagship at its special event on 14 October.
The phone is available to pre-order now but officially goes on sale on Tuesday, 20 October in the UK and Europe and Friday, 23 October in the US.
While the 8T won’t have a larger 8T Pro sibling, it will boast a flat 6.55in, 120Hz display, and ditch the curved glass of the standard 8. There’s also a massive 4,500mAh battery and 65W Warp Charge, up from the OnePlus 8’s 30W.
You can expect Oxygen OS 11 on Android 11, all powered with a top-tier Snapdragon 865 chip. As for cameras, the 8T returns with the familiar 48Mp main camera on the back, along with a 16Mp ultra-wide, 5Mp macro and 2Mp mono.
With the launch of the 8T, prices on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have dropped off a cliff. Amazon, which is running its massive Prime Day deals event currently has £200 off the 8 Pro and £150 off the OnePlus 8.
Of course, if you want the best and the latest, here’s where to pre-order up the OnePlus 8T right now.
How much does the OnePlus 8T cost?
While there isn’t a Pro model of the 8T, the phone will be available in two configurations and price-points:
- OnePlus 8T 8GB/128GB – £549 – unavailable in the US
- OnePlus 8T 12GB/256GB – £649/US$749
The prices are comparable to the 5G iPhone 12 Mini which starts at £699/US$699.

Pre-orders in the UK directly from OnePlus include a free phone case while US orders include a “mystery gift” (we’re guessing it’s also a phone case, or perhaps Bullets Wireless 2 earphones, which OnePlus has included in bundle offers before).
We can’t see any other pre-order deals at the moment but will update this article if that changes.
Best OnePlus Pre-Order trade-in deals
OnePlus’s own trading scheme offers up to £330/US$230 towards the 8T. In the UK, Apple phones can claim up to £570 while Samsung phones can claim up to £360. See how much your device is worth here

Where to buy the OnePlus 8T SIM-free
You can buy the OnePlus 8T directly from OnePlus. John Lewis will hold a one-day pre-sale on Friday 16 October.
We expect Geekbuying may also offer the 8T soon, as it stocks both the OnePlus 8 and 7T. The same goes for Laptops Direct, which stocks other OnePlus 8 models.
Where to buy the OnePlus 8T on contract
We currently can’t see any OnePlus pre-order from networks in the UK or US.
In the UK, we expect to start seeing deals from Three once the phone goes on sale, as Three is the only network offering the 8T.
We’ll update this article as soon as we see more retailers announced, so watch this space.
