This is a pointless feature that serves no benefit but a sticker to outpace the competitor.
I understand that having experienced 120hz on an iPad will hinder lower refresh rates on other devices (I use 144hz on my PC and can’t stand 60hz monitors for gaming now).
But the feature never should have existed to begin with. It’s wastes battery life, and on a device such as a phone or tablet, doesn’t serve much purpose. Mobile gaming is nowhere near the level that requires high refresh rates.
Nearly all videos (YouTube, Netflix, etc.) are 60fps max, and usually lower. General browsing has no use for higher refresh rates.
So in the end, you have a screen that sucks back more battery, for… no purpose but to appear higher end.
