The Everyday Grind: Do you play MMOs for the style wars?

[ad_1]

Regardless of whether you get in touch with it “fashion wars” as in Guild Wars two or “space barbie” as in Star Trek Online or “dolly dress-up” as in Warframe, decking out your character in quite gear is a major portion of the enjoyable of MMOs, proper? We mock newbie “hobo” outfits, we vie competitively for the most particle-impact-laden armor, and we spend by way of the nose for cosmetic gear.

And but, I know PvP players who take this concept to the opposite intense, intentionally wearing trash armor just to add added embarrassment for victims. I also knew a group of dudes who PvPed in hotpants, to say absolutely nothing of the ubiquitous “naked PKs” who applied to gank miners (it wasn’t a style statement so substantially as a want to shed as tiny as feasible if the miner occurred to fight back!).

Do you play MMOs for the style wars? What percentage of your MMO gametime is spent arranging, acquiring, and donning your character’s outfits?

Every single morning, the Massively Overpowered writers group up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer on the web roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the query posed in today’s Everyday Grind!
