Manga publisher and anime licensor Viz Media dumped a boatload of news on the press for the duration of NYCC, and we’re just now attempting to assemble it all. The 1st issue they revealed was that they had been now publishing manga created for Disney licenses: Star Wars and Frozen books will be released quickly.
Especially, the manga adaption of Frozen two will be published Stateside in early 2020, and Star Wars: The Legend of Luke Skywalker: The Manga will be appearing about the identical time. The latter is an adaption of Ken Liu’s novel, which shares the identical title except devoid of “The Manga” added to it. Appear for art inside by Akira Himekawa (THE LEGEND OF ZELDA manga adaptations), Haruichi, Akira Fukaya, Takashi Kisaki and Subaru (not the car or truck).
So Viz licenses JoJo….any news there? Yes, and it is very good news. The show has been a staple of Adult Swim’s Toonami ever due to the fact it joined the lineup in 2016, but lately there’s been a dearth of Joestars and their bizarre adventures on the block. This is basically simply because they ran out of dubbed episodes. But lo and behold, the new season is practically translated and the English version of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind will seem on Toonami beginning October 26. Yay!
This is hardly all….Viz also announced 15 additional acquisitions at NYCC, which includes new Bleach, Naruto and A single Piece novels, the action comedy Spy X Household, a re-release for Rumiko Takahashi’s Maison Ikkoku, and considerably additional. 2020 will be a packed year for Viz and for fans of Japanese-borne entertainment.
