The Final of Us: Element II will not have a multiplayer element. Naughty Dog confirmed this yesterday (at the time of writing), causing a bit of a ruckus in the procedure. Even so, this does not imply that the studio has abandoned multiplayer totally.
Naughty Dog has posted a statement on Twitter that reads:
“We wanted to address multiplayer in The Final of Us: Element II. As we’ve stated, the single player campaign is far and away the most ambitious project Naughty Dog has ever undertaken. Likewise, as improvement started on the evolution of our Factions mode from The Final of Us: Element I, the vision of the group grew beyond an extra mode that could be integrated with our massive single player campaign. Wanting to assistance each visions, we created the hard decision that The Final of Us: Element II would not contain an on the internet mode.
Even so, you will at some point expertise the fruits of our team’s on the internet ambition, but not as aspect of The Final of Us: Element II. When and exactly where it will be realized is nevertheless to be determined. But rest assured, we are as huge a fan as Factions as the rest of our neighborhood and are excited to share much more when it really is prepared.”
In other words, Naughty Dog has some thing considerably larger planned for the franchise’s multiplayer element. To us, this reads like it could be reshaped into some type of standalone release. Clearly the developer is not prepared to go into detail but, but it’ll be exciting to see what it has in shop.
So there you have it — The Final of Us multiplayer is not dead but. Excellent news? Is all forgiven? Join a faction in the comments section beneath.
