The Witcher card game Gwent is going mobile and heading to iOS devices on 29th October. It is a free of charge-to-play game with the selection of acquiring card kegs (packs), and all progress and purchases will share amongst iOS and Computer (note: not console, by the sound of it).

You will have to have an iPhone 6S or newer to run it, an iPad Mini four or newer, iPad 5th generation or newer, iPad Air two or newer, or any iPad Pro.

Gwent is the card game which started life inside The Witcher three: Wild Hunt but was then fleshed out into a complete game. It is practically unrecognisable now. The nuts and bolts are the very same but it has so a lot much more tactical nuance and depth. And it is beautiful, with tiny animated avatars standing on the board and tiny moving images – I appreciate issues like that.

Gwent has been about a whilst now, also, benefitting from a extended beta just before lastly launching final autumn alongside Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, a Gwent-primarily based but standalone, heavily storied game. It is seriously fantastic.

Gwent got its initial card expansion earlier this year, in the shape of Crimson Curse, a vampire-themed affair.

There is no word on an Android release but but I am checking. Give it a go!
