American Horror Story: 1984 Goes Complete Retro in New Trailer

The initial official trailer for the upcoming American Horror Story: 1984 returns to its 80s and Friday the 13th-inspired roots.

Accurate to American Horror Story tradition, a bunch of mini-teasers released ahead of the trailer drop, every reveling in their slasher homage and cheesy setting. This season seems to be rooted in additional “real” threats, like escaped serial killers and killing sprees. Nevertheless becoming a handful of seasons in, there’s no telling what the most up-to-date threats could be.

This trailer shows Cody Fern’s character, who seems to be an aerobics instructor, roping his close friends into becoming camp counselors at Camp Redwood. Even though on the way there, they hit a individual with their van ahead of meeting the rest of the Camp Redwood crew. There are hints about the camp’s mysterious previous, particularly immediately after a killer identified as Mr. Jingles escapes from a nearby prison.

In addition to Cody Fern, former cast members Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, and John Carroll Lynch return to American Horror Story. Joining this season are Glee’s Matthew Morrison, Pose’s Angelica Ross, skier Gus Kenworthy, Dear White Men and women’s DeRon Horton, and Shameless’ Zach Villa. This will be the initial season exactly where series regulars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson — the only two actors to seem in all eight earlier seasons of the show in some capacity — will not seem.

American Horror Story: 1984 premieres on FX on September 18th. Extra teasers are most likely to drop ahead of then, so preserve your eyes peeled.
