The 4MHz team are excited to announce that they have commenced development on Malasombra, an action adventure game for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES).
Set in legends and fairy tales, Malasombra is an ambitious project carefully designed to provide gamers with an epic adventure, featuring an exciting story where nothing is what it seems.
The backstory to Malasombra sees you play Pirou, a humble aspiring magician, whose wedding day has been ruined when the evil sorcerer, Malasombra, snatches his beloved and turned all attending the wedding into toads. So it’s up to Pirou to go around collecting pages of a powerful book of spells, which will allow him to acquire new skills through transmutations, in order to destroy Malasombra, recover his beloved and reverse all the evil that has caused the kingdom.
The 4MHz team has a long history of developing quality games for 8-bit systems, with great successes on the Amstrad CPC with titles such as Adiós a la Casta I and II, Tesoro Perdido de Cuauhtemoc, Profanation 2, Baba’s Palace, and the internationally acclaimed Operation Alexandra (which coincidentally was voted by gamer’s as the winner of the 2018 RGN Gamers’ Choice Award for the Amstrad CPC).
Though no release date has been set, Malasombra is expected to be available in both digital and physical cart format upon its release.
