The Epic Games shop has announced two new additions for the duration of Gamescom – Magic: The Gathering Arena and Oddworld: Soulstorm are each due to hit Computer through Epic’s launcher. MTG Arena is currently offered in open beta via its personal launcher – and that will continue to be the case just after the Epic launch.
Oddworld: Soulstorm, having said that, will be an Epic Games shop exclusive, as portion of a simultaneous release across consoles and Computer in 2020. In a message posted to the official Twitter, Oddworld Inhabitants co-founder Lorne Lanning provides some explanation for the move, as fans “deserve to know.”
Lanning says “we’ve been financing Soulstorm 100% ourselves. Soulstorm is our most ambitious game ever and we are committed to building a fantastic game that meets the highest level of top quality. But to produce the version of Soulstorm we want, and you deserve, we necessary more economic help.”
He adds that Epic is supplying an “advance on our Computer sales,” which sounds a lot like the deal that was recently detailed by the developers of Oooblets.
Quite a few Epic exclusivity agreements have been timed, but there’s no word however on whether or not that will be the case with Oddworld: Soulstorm.
