Remember ANTHEM? It has been a hot second since Bioware’s failure of a looter shooter was in the news cycle, but it looks like the studio is still trying to right the ship with another substantial patch, for now at least. Update 1.3.0 finally adds the end-game Cataclysm event to the game – something that was originally promised to arrive not too long after the title’s launch all the way back in February.
Alongside new story missions that will have you unravelling the mystery behind the Cataclysm itself by tracking down Dr. Harken, the end-game activity introduces a number of new features and mechanics. Inversions are sets of gameplay modifiers that increase the difficulty of the battles you’ll come across, leaderboards score your performance, and a seasonal currency allows you to make purchases in a new store that’ll stock time-limited rewards. It all sounds very much in line with any other event found in a looter shooter.
Battle Vara Brom and her forces in a dangerous new game mode that evolves over time. Teamwork is heavily encouraged as you battle against the dangerous environment and time itself, unlock secrets, and master the Cataclysm to earn all new rewards and rank up the leaderboard.
Besides that, the 1.3.0 patch makes a whole host of changes and tweaks to the alliance system, weapons, difficulty levels, gear, and classes. For all the information on those fixes and general improvements, head to the EA forums via this link.
