We have our initial appear at the Grid reboot in new footage.
If it weren’t for the updated UI, you’d be forgiven for considering you are watching the original game. 2019 Grid clearly appears superior than 2008 Grid, but nowhere close to a ten-year leap.
The initial ever gameplay is shown in IGN‘s video beneath. The footage largely runs by way of a single San Francisco track with muscle vehicles prior to it switches it up for GT on an additional street circuit in Shanghai. Tight, enclosed street circuits is exactly where the original Grid excelled, and it appears like the reboot will not be obtaining rid of that.
We sadly do not get a right appear at vehicle harm, which Codemasters confirmed is returning. The original Grid remains unrivalled to this day for its destruction physics (on genuine vehicles), so it’ll be exciting to see if it’ll be taken really that far in the reboot.
What the trailer really shows relatively nicely is the new Racecraft scoring technique, which tracks just about every move you make on the road and rewards you for it. We also get a short appear at the nemesis technique, which tends to make AI vehicles target you if you bump into them also lots of occasions.
Grid is out September 13 on Computer, PS4, and Xbox One particular.
