Due Process – Alpha Sign Up

Due Process is a multiplayer tactical first person shooter that pits players against each other in procedurally generated siege combat situations with a focus on planning and teamwork.

Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer way back in 2014 when it looked very different, Due Process is a tactical first person shooter where games can be on or lost in the planning stage. It’s a little like Rainbow Six: Siege, but with even more of a focus planning, communication and teamwork.

Each round of Due Process starts with each team going through a planning stage where they can select their loadouts in first person, discuss strategies and plan their actions on a top-down blueprint of the procedurally generated map. Players can physically draw their routes and highlight specific points on the blueprint and when the match starts those drawn routes are visible (to the corresponding team) on the map. The siege then plays out and the team with the best planning and communication is most often the winner.

It’s been a long time in development but Due Process is coming along nicely. It’s one of the few tactical first person shooters where tactics, planning and communication really do matter – a fact illustrated by the fact that often the planning stage can last longer than the execution stage of each match. Well worth checking out if you’re looking for a cerebral shooter experience – Leeroy Jenkins need not apply.
